A gritty defensive display allowed Felsted to progress into the regional quarter finals. In the first half Felsted had the ball for at most 2 minutes, but good organisation, communication and tackling restricted the opponents’ chances, who were organised and went through the phases very well. In the second half it was more of the same but gradually Felsted started winning some ball. The turning point came when Saffron Walden with sustained pressure earned a penalty under the posts. However the kick was missed. With 5 minutes to go Felsted got into the opponents 22 for the first time. Oliver Williams caught a line out, fed Tom Kingham who gave the ball to Max Malins who burst through three tackles to score. He converted the kick from just wide of the posts.
